Working In Partnership With

In 2025, Australian Marist Solidarity invites all young Marists in Australia to get behind our School Campaign spotlighting St Joseph's College Tenaru in Solomon Islands. St Joseph's is a Marist School just like ours: students wear a uniform, there are images of Jesus, Mary and Marcellin around the school, students participate in sports and music, and they sing their school song with pride. Let's build on this spirit of Solidarity by helping raise awareness and funds to support young Solomon Islanders in their learning journey by helping to renovate school facilities across the board.

Australian Marist Solidarity

Australian Marist Solidarity (AMS) is the international agency for the aid and development work of the Marist family in Australia throughout Asia and the Pacific Islands. AMS works with the people in this region on a combination of long-term and short-term development projects. These projects aim to develop or support locally sustained education opportunities for the young people in these regions.

St Joseph's College, Tenaru

St Joseph's is one of Solomon Island's most sought-after schools due to its high academic performance. However, since opening in the late 1940s, it has not received much-needed renovations and refurbishments, with school facilities in poor condition. Coupled with a bourgeoning youth population, the school has struggled to keep up with the increasing student enrolment's, with facilities catering to 300 students now serving up to almost 800. These cramped learning conditions are not conducive to a fulfilling and safe learning environment.
